Taupi Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Taupi (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Taupi app and related services (“Services”).

1) Information we collect

We collect information to provide and improve the Services. Depending on how you use Taupi, we may collect:

  • Account information: username/handle, profile details, avatar, contact info you provide.
  • Content you create: posts, captions, comments, messages, uploads, and any metadata you attach.
  • Usage information: interactions such as views, likes, follows, clicks, session activity, and feature usage.
  • Device & technical data: device type, OS version, app version, identifiers, log data, crash reports.
  • Approximate location (optional): if you enable location features, we may use it for content/location tagging.
  • Payment-related information (if you use wallet features): transaction metadata and payment method tokens provided by payment processors.

2) Payments and financial features

If Taupi provides wallet or payment features, payments may be processed by third-party providers (for example, card processors or bank-link providers). We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials on Taupi servers. Providers may return tokens and transaction details that we store to run the feature.

3) How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Personalize feeds, recommendations, and user experience.
  • Enable messaging, social interactions, and safety features.
  • Process transactions and prevent fraud (when financial features are used).
  • Monitor, debug, and secure the Services.
  • Communicate with you about updates, support, and important notices.

4) How we share information

We may share information in the following cases:

  • With other users: content you choose to share (e.g., your profile, posts, comments, and public activity depending on your settings).
  • With service providers: hosting, analytics, security, customer support, and payment processors that work on our behalf.
  • For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect users and the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (we’ll provide notice where required).

We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary sense. If laws in your region define “sale” broadly, you can contact us to exercise opt-out rights.

5) Cookies and tracking

On the website, we may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics. In the app, we may use device identifiers and event logs to understand performance and improve features.

Do Not Track

Taupi does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. You can control certain data collection through your device and app settings.

6) Data retention

We retain information as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes (like security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance). If you delete your account, we take steps to delete or de-identify your data, unless we’re required to keep it.

7) Your choices and controls

  • Profile & privacy settings: adjust what others can see in the app.
  • Notifications: control which notifications you receive.
  • Location: enable/disable in device settings.
  • Access and deletion: request access to or deletion of certain data by contacting us.

8) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is 100% secure, so please use strong passwords and keep your device secure.

9) Children’s privacy

Taupi is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child provided us personal data, contact us and we’ll take appropriate steps.

10) International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. We take steps to protect your information as required by applicable laws.

11) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Effective date” above and may provide additional notice in the app when changes are significant.
